Brentwood’s Heritage High Patriots Defeat Freedom Falcons
While some people were out at Brentwood’s Rave theater watching the latest movie release this last Friday the Patriots were dominating over the Freedom Falcons. The overall score this last week was 32-6 in favor of the Patriots.
It was seniors night Friday and the Heritage seniors did not fail to bring their fierce gameplay to the table. The big star of the night was the Patriots running back Kruger Story Jr. who made four scores and rushed for over 200 yards.
On the Patriot’s very first possession they brought the ball to the end zone for a touchdown that was the icing on the cake of a 80 yard drive. The Falcons had a spectacular play by D’Amora Cooper who returned a kickoff for a 79 yard touchdown. On Heritage’s very next possession they drove the ball for another touchdown by running back Kruger Story Jr. this brought the Patriots to an overall score of 19-6 right before the halftime show was about to start.
The Patriots took action against against Freedom and blocked a field goal attempt on Freedom’s next possession. This set the Patriots up for another touchdown by none other than Kruger Story Jr. as the halftime ended. The Falcons would receive the ball back and would drive again for 60 yards, but fumbled the ball to the Patriots. Heritage was unable to capitalize on the fumble for a another touchdown. The Patriots were forced to punt after being stopped by Falcon defense. However, the punt positioned the Patriots for a score after another change in possession by the Falcons.
The score was achieved by Kruger Story Jr. who by now is undoubtedly the most valuable player of the game. This time Story masterfully penetrated through a hole that the Patriot’s offensive line created that led to a 75+ yard touchdown. This is the last time that some of the seniors on the Patriot’s team will play on their home field.
This next week the Heritage Patriots will face off against the Deer Valley Wolverines who have been undefeated this season. This next game should see a stellar strategies from both teams. Gameplay should be the same if not better than local college play considering these two teams are among the top in their league.
