If you live in Antioch, believe whole heartedly in the Antioch City Council, and are voting in CD-10 elections on September 1st then Mark DeSaulnier is the vote for you. The Antioch City Council has decided to step into the CD-10 race and endorse Mark DeSaulnier. This is a bold move considering DeSaulnier is behind Garamendi in pre-poll voting surveys. If you are a troubled home owner in Antioch than a vote for DeSaulnier would be the best choice. Garamendi has the stronger reputation and political clout to sway votes, but Garamendi is running in the wrong political district. If modification of your existing home loan is your primary goal, then Garamendi could help more in district 3 (with DeSaulnier in district 10).

According to Antioch Mayor Pro Tem, “I am proud to endorse Senator Mark DeSaulnier for Congress,” Antioch Mayor Pro Tem Mary Rocha said. “As our Congressman, Mark will take the voice of the people of Antioch and Contra Costa county to Washington. In his years representing Contra Costa, Mark has partnered with Congresswoman Tauscher and delivered real results to the people of East county, creating better economic opportunities and improvements to local transportation,” Rocha added.

DeSaulnier responded, “I am grateful to have the support of the Antioch City Council members in my race for Congress,” State Senator and 10th District Congressional candidate Mark DeSaulnier said. “I have been fortunate to work for the people of Antioch and the East County in the legislature. When I am in Congress, I will partner with Congressman George Miller and others to pass health care reform and bring real change to the people in East County.”

As if to echo the Council’s sentiments the East County Democrats For Action club announced endorsement for DeSaulnier too. DeSaulnier definitely seems like the right choice for individuals who are facing foreclosure in Antioch. Considering how slow lenders have been recently to respond to modification and short sale requests electing DeSaulnier could actually help! Especially, if Garamendi tag teamed housing regulations from district 3. Although…Woods is the only candidate who expressly favors another real estate moratorium on his website. One thing is for sure regardless if Woods or DeSaulnier ends up winning in district 10, Garamendi should be running in district 3.
